Something to Believe In Article By: Pastor Will Matherly ________________________________________________ So
many folks want "proof and evidence" that God is Real and Working in their lives Today. Can we as Christians Offer them this
Evidence, or Not ?? Can we show them How God remains the same yesterday, today and forever ?? I hope this Article helps us
to do just that, And give them what they are looking for, ""Something to Believe In"". Faith,
Substance and Evidence, according to the writer of Hebrews 11:1 is Tangible Proof, Its Substance and Evidence. We all know
what Evidence is, But what is Substance. ( Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ) By
Definition, Substance is: (1) That which occupies space and can be perceived by the senses: materiality, matter. (2) The most central and material part: core, essence, heart, nature,
marrow, meat, root, soul and spirit. Faith is not just blind belief, That’s
what the Writer of Hebrews chapter 11 is trying to tell us. They are saying, Faith is Touchable, Tangible, that faith is Something
real, Matter, the Core and Heart, The Thread that holds and unites everything we know and understand. He
then goes on to say, Faith is Evidence. Real Tangible Evidence of things unseen ( Evidence of God and his Power). Something
or Someone you know is there, Not just something you believe in, But something you have Evidence and Proof of the existence
and presence of. Now I want to ask a question. What is your faith ? Is it Belief
?? Or do you have Substance and Evidence to back up your faith ?? Could you offer
conclusive Evidence and Testimony of your faith, if you and your faith were challenged by someone ??? 1st
Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Here
is an exercise you can try with a few friends: Take a chair or just sit on the ground. Have your friends gather in front of
you. Have them to take a moment and come up with Hard Hitting, Tough questions and arguments. Have them act like they are
Unbelievers. Get them Question every aspect of your Faith. How you got it. What proof you have to stand on. What evidence
you can offer to back it up ETC. Let them Grill you over the fire of their questions 5 or 10 Minuets. Now how solid is your
faith ??? How did you do during the exercise ??? Faith is something we KNOW, Faith
is beyond the shadow of Doubt. Faith is your own personal Witness and Testimony. By Faith, the elders gained Good report says
Hebrews 11:2 , Do you have a good report ? Hebrews 11:6 says without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God !! that’s
pretty strong. Friend do you have honest to goodness 111% faith, or is your faith without evidence
? Does your faith have Substance or is it air ?? Can you walk up to someone and Explain
your faith ?? And give them a Good reason why you believe in an unseen invisible God ???? God
never intended us to follow him on some kind of Blind faith. God wants to give you Solid Faith, Unmovable, Unshakable Faith.
Faith so strong, that no demon from hell or anyone else could Ever convince you
that your faith is empty, vain and void of evidence. God wants you to KNOW HIM. Know his power and presence. God wants you
to have your own Personal Testimony to back up your faith, And if we don’t have that kind of faith, our witness is weak
and breakable. Faith is that Witnesses through a Personal Testimony. Faith that says, Yes there
is a God, I know that without a Doubt, and here is why. The world is tired of the same old Witnesses, Telling them the same
old things. Unless your in a area of the world where the Gospel has not been taken to, They Know that Jesus is Lord and that
they Need Jesus, Because someone else has told them already. Give them something New, Something Fresh. Not the same ole same
ole. Fresh, New, Exciting Good Honest to Goodness witness, by sharing your faith. Revelation
12:11 tells us how the war in Heaven was won, It was won by the Blood of Jesus, and the word of their Testimony, The witness
each one of them have, I know that I know Because …… God Healed me, God touched my heart, I Felt God, He took
my Addictions, Did what I could not do, JESUS CHANGED ME. I know because I was
Blind but Jesus gave me Sight, I was Cripple but now I can Walk, I had a bill and NO MONEY, I prayed and God spoke to me and
told me right where to look and I Found CASH to pay it with !!! What ever the case
may be, in your life. Tell them that, Give them Your Faith, Your Substance and Your Evidence. That’s Soul Winning, Burden
Removing, Yoke Destroying Faith. That’s what the world is looking for. Someone who Can and Will, A Friend. Give them
what Jesus gave you, Himself. Share the Goodness and Joy of Jesus. Simply Give them ……… “Something
